There must always be a small leakage at atmosphere to lubricate and cool the packing. Refer to your IOM.
What oil do I use for my Roots blower?
Use Roots blowers synthetic oil of the proper viscosity for the ambient temperature where the Roots blower and motor are located.
What viscosity lubrication do I use?
The only determining factor when selecting viscosity of the lubrication is the ambient temperature of the space the Roots blower and driver are located in. No other factors should be used to determine the viscosity of the lubrication.
What grease do I use in the drive end of my grease lubricated Roots blower?
Use the following: For URAI non DSL Roots air blowers and Roots Whispair Max use Shell Darina SD2 product code 506762B. For Roots URAI GAS blowers use Roots synthetic grease.
